About Judith

Judith was born in Orkney, grew up in Lincolnshire and now lives in the far north of Scotland. Her work draws inspiration from folklore, experience and the natural world. The Backwater, Judith’s debut book, was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2019. Judith followed this with Dance With Me in 2020 and her next novel, Honour’s Rest, in October 2021. Judith began publishing for adults with her gothic horror novella, “The Folly at Raighvan Park”, in 2023, and will be publishing a gothic horror anthology this October.

When she isn’t writing, Judith teaches English at the local High School. She sometimes finds that writing gets usurped by crafting, music, and being a generally doting spaniel owner.

The Folly at Raighvan Park will pull you into its depth from the moment you begin to read and it will not let go even after you have read the last page. The descriptions are very well done making it easy to imagine it all. My heart went out to Lord Stretton as he travelled down this lowly and dark path.

Judith Crow has created a story of what I call real characters. The kind of characters I could see in my mind. The kind of characters I cared about. It’s as if I was watching a stage play. The kind I hope will be in a long series.
